Sona - Lost Causes

Stilnovo is proud to present Sona’s first original release for the London label. The Dallas native-Taiwan transplant has been making steady waves in the dance music scene with his innovative production style and genre bending sounds. Handpicked and signed by Pete Tong for his Bedroom Bedlam label, Sona’s work is also praised by top players like John Acquaviva, Onionz and Carl Cox.
With this new release Sona is in top form, with a melodic yet very moving number.
Stef LeFrancois adds his signature style for a more electronic vibe that is set to rock dance floors, while Eleonora explores brighter vibes with a broken and a chill out mix reminiscing of summer sunsets.

Early support from Laurent Garnier, Giom, Tony Humphries, Coccoluto and many more.

With 12 stunning mixes, Stilnovo serves up a large release this time!
‘Dance of The Soul’ first appeared on Positive Flow’s album ‘Can U Feel It’ in 2004 as a soulful broken beat number, with a killer spoken word by Zena Edwards.
Appreciated by the ‘heads’ as an underground gem, ‘Dance of The Soul’ today gets the 2009 rework from the Stilnovo crew, in 12 different flavours!
From Jay Tripwire’s experimental sounds, to Demarkus Lewis’ club vibe, whilst Eleonora keeps it deep and melodic. To boot, Version3 do what only they can do, with their very own signature sound! Stef LeFrancois from Version3, also provide his own version to this song, showcasing a more electronic edge.
There is something from everyone on this release, and we believe all the hard work and talented producers behind it makes it the best Stilnovo release so far.

Early support already coming from Laurent Garnier, Coccoluto, Nacho Marco, Soularis, Raymundo Rodriguez and many more.

12.07.09 – Summer schedule…

No Comment // Written on Jul 12, 2009 // News

I have been quite absent lately as my days seem to get busier, and the desire to slow down and enjoy the summer is definitely there.
In fact, I have only accepted to DJ at 2 parties this summer. They are 2 beach parties at 2 different locations in Italy (I couldn’t say no to the sun and sea!!).
The first one was on June 27th at a resort called Bocabarranca. The good Seiji, Domu, Mark De Clive-Lowe and other fellow peeps have played there before and I have been told how cool of a place that was. After coming back, I can only confirm it was a off the hook party!
Amazing location, amazing crowd, it really was worth it as I had a really great time.
It also fills me up with joy whenever I am so well received by my own people in Italy as, in the past I have felt very unappreciated by my own country.
Next party will be at a location called Lamezia Terme, near Cosenza. The same day the new Stilnovo single ‘Dance of the Soul’ comes out.
I’m very excited about this new one as I believe it’s our best work so far and I’m happy about how my mixes turned out :)

6pod9 – Aire reviewed on SoundReflect

Debut release on Stilnovo from Electronic sensation Manu Alonso AKA 6pod9. This release is sure to fascinate lovers of Deep and Tech House alike.

As a fast rising talent in the Electronic music scene, 6pod9 has developed a very unique sound which spans from the most banging minimal electro, to spacial ambient. Whatever the genre, 6pod9 always brings elegance and sophistication to his creations and is setting the standards for the new generation of producers.
Already releasing award winning sample packs for companies such as Loopmasters, Samplemagic and Zero-G, 6pod9 is a natural when it comes to sound design.
The package also includes a stunning mix from Demarkus Lewis, who revisited the track in his own signature house style, making this the perfect choice for the club, while still remaining true to its original vibe.

Hollywood Story on M8 Magazine

Rogiers ft. Bilal – Hollywood Story (Remixes)

On a deeper, though possibly even more soulful, note comes this debut release from Stilnovo with these excellent remixes giving the release even more urgency. The ‘Leech & Maxime Cescau Remix’ adds an intense rhythm section to Bilal Oliver’s sweet vocal delivery which cleverly disguises its cynical subject matter re. the Hollywood set et al. Next is the ‘Sona Remix’ which gets more twisted with warped keyboards and an off -kilter atmosphere to neatly suit the alternative take.

15.12.08 – Bar Rumba, London

With the help of Gilles Peterson, my good friend Thristian started a very cool night at Bar Rumba in London with the goal to provide a quality spot in the West End.
Bar Rumba already had a history of Gilles Peterson Mondays but now it’s the BPM is taking things to the next level.
After a couple months running, this time it was me and King Britt joining the residents in the booth.
Always a pleasure djing with King, as he never fails to impress us with his eclectic style.
Quite a few friends came down and it was a very friendly vibe. Those nights where you really rediscover the pleasure of playing what you enjoy and don’t feel constricted by genre barriers.
Dego of 4Hero, Charlie Dark and others were amongst the crowd and everyone seemed to be having a great time.
Thanks to parties like this it is still a pleasure spending a night out in the West End!

21.11.08 – Join me at Whisky Mist

I am now a resident at London’s most exclusive club, Whisky Mist.
I’ll be doing the warm up in the Luxe Room for the Ladies night on Wednesdays, playing retro party grooves and stylish upfront cuts as usual.
We start at 9.30 with canapes and drinks… and most times there will be designers hosting the party. We just had Tommy Hilfiger.
It is truly the most glamorous venue in London, with regular guests such as Prince Harry, Paris Hilton, Guy Richie…a real celeb hang out. Last week there were also Robert De Niro and Jack Nicholson…
